ABOUT THIS DATABASE

go-BiO — Biofuel and Bioproduct Resources Saskatchewan

Go-BiO is a one-stop source of information identifying all of the bioproduct, biofuel and bioenergy related interests, activities, supports available in Saskatchewan. Launched in 2008, go-BiO hosts information on the capacity and infrastructure assets with a presence "on the ground" in Saskatchewan and acts as a referral and attraction tool to develop and support industry activity. Funding support to develop this database was provided by the Agriculture Council of Saskatchewan Inc. (ACS) through Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada's Canadian Adaptation and Rural Development in Saskatchewan (CARDS) program. Go-BiO is a valuable resource to assist individuals, companies, and governments identify opportunities for collaboration or partnership with Saskatchewan-based organizations. We profile a broad range of business so that anyone who has interest or expertise in bioproducts, biofuels and bioenergy may participate. Whether you are an academic researcher working in the area, a company manufacturing a product, or a service or equipment supplier, there is a place for you in the database. Go-BiO is limited, however, to those with a presence in Saskatchewan or relevant federal or provincial government programs and services.

About the Saskatchewan Biofuels and Bioproducts Centre

The creation of a Saskatchewan biofuels and bioproducts centre is an initiative led by Ag-West Bio Inc. and industry proponents. This centre will focus on being a champion and catalyst for the ongoing development of the biofuels and bioproducts industry in Saskatchewan. The centre will identify specific opportunities for the province, strengthen linkages between key players, enable world-leading research, and improve the commercialization of biofuels and bioproducts. The Saskatchewan go-BiO database is one project contributing to the centre's mandate.

About our Sponsors

Initial funding for the go-BiO Saskatchewan project was secured from Agriculture Council of Saskatchewan Inc. (ACS) through Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada's Canadian Adaptation and Rural Development in Saskatchewan (CARDS) program. ACS recognized that a database could boost the bioproducts and biofuels clustering activity already building momentum in the province. Ag-West Bio acted as a catalyst for the development of this project as part of supporting the creation of a Saskatchewan biofuels and bioproducts centre. Funding was also secured from Industry Canada to further develop and populate the database to act as a pilot-project for other areas and organizations in Canada.
